Re: August 2015 meeting
I'm sorry I've been absent lately, and I'm not going to make the meeting again today. I desperately need to catch up on some things before the work week starts again on Monday.
I'm working 60+ hours a week right now, am physically exhausted when I get home, and haven't had the time or the energy to even keep up with the ever mounting daily grind of things needing to be done at home. I finally did water changes last weekend after not having done them in 3 months or so. Was starting to lose fish and snails. I've been feeling so guilty about neglecting them and the sad conditions they've had to endure, that I've resorted to avoiding even looking at them apart from daily feedings. And I'm losing my enthusiasm. Too many other things needing attention. I'm so very grateful to finally be working steady (thank goodness); but it's feast or famine.
The filter on my 5 gallon gave out a couple of months ago, so I distributed everyone in there to the other 3 tanks. Then the filter on my 20 gallon shot craps last weekend, after which I moved everyone in that tank to the 55, and forced me to do the water changes Sunday evening. The two running tanks, 55 & 75, are all I can handle right now.
Again, sorry I've not participated lately. Hopefully when things calm down with work (usually around Thanksgiving, give or take, depending on job status and weather) I'll be able to actually enjoy my tanks and fishkeeping.
