Mays meeting will be the third Sunday due ti Mothers Day.

I thought we could meet at the WalMart and do a group trip to Sailfin.

I like that idea. Can't go that weekend either. Gateway guppy annual show then. I'd recommend you call Sailfin and talk to John, the owner, about the club's visit. He will probably be willing to set up a percentage discount for the members.

I like the idea too. I'm just lacking the motivation to commit right now. I'm kind of in a personal funk and not feeling like planning on doing much of anything at the moment. Hopefully I'll be excited, not only about the idea of going, but about actually going closer to time.

Will the Gateway guppy annual show have an auction after the show?

The auction for the show will be Sunday morning. I''l look up the time.

Do you think they may have any see through guppies at the auction?

I would be surprised if there were any see through guppies at the auction since that is not one of the color varieties to be judged. I will ask around at the show.

I'm game to go whenever. Any one want to carpool to the Guppy show I/m up for that too.

Becky - Hope you get out of your funk - nothing like going to a guppy show to get de-funkafied. Or tequilla. Let me know and we can all get together and do either. :-)

Thanks for the funk-busting thoughts, David.  Would have to pass on the tequila though.  Didn't sit well with me once, and since then it just smells like upchuck.  

Well it can be Diet Coke, the beverage doesnt matter. Nobody parties like tropical fish people and parties are fun......right?

Anyone want to get together for lunch somewhere this weekend i'm game. Always fun to talk fish.

Feel free to visit the guppy show, the judging starts at 2:30. As there are several aspects beside just winning, it's somewhat serious. You can ask the judges questions after the final decisions for each category is done.
You can get specifics, like what the categories are, directions, and so on from the Gateway Guppy Club web site.
The auction is Sunday morning at 9:30. The website lists open viewing at 8:00 but there are people there from Florida to Alaska and they usually pre-arrange to take their fish and go. Viewing is hit and miss and a bit hectic since fish are being shuffled around a lot.
This is a big learning event if you ever wanted to compete. This is a national points show. Judging rules can be review on the International Fancy Guppy Association web site. I'd think this would be similar to betta shows and goldfish shows where people's livelihood and certainly a lot of ego may be at stake.
I've looked through all the information and cannot find anything that relates to Tequila. Good Luck if you decide to mix the two.
