Re: Frustration with discus:
Right now I have 5 Blue Pearl X Blue Snakeskin Discus that I got off of Aquabid awhile back. They are eating like pigs. trying to get some more so I can grow them all out together and move them into one of my 125 gallon show tanks. Hes going to have some more Super Reds soon that I plan on getting off of him. Also plan on going to the swap meet in St Louis on Oct 6th and the auction in Bartonville on the 27th. So not sure how long im going to be in the market for them. But i do have a few empty tanks that are itching to have some young discus in them.

Re: Frustration with discus:
you will have much better luck finding discus at the chicago swap on sept 30th mike. they always have a bunch up there. if you find any at the local auction it will be like 1 or 2 fish at most. that sale has really really gone downhill imo

A couple of red turks, a couple of blue snake skins from a guy name william in chicago one orange tangerine from a guy name Sonny in Kentucky. I just ordered 12 red covers from kozykeith. I am waiting for a e mail from another guy name Joel to see if he has any fry for sale.
Have you been looking at the discus on the import list?
I am going to try to buy a breeding pair.

Four weeks syndrome
Four weeks syndrome
Well there is a learning curve and I am still behind it. I never heard of four weeks syndrome with discus but apparently it is common. I lost my last batch due to what I thought was poor water issues but now I think it was
four weeks syndrome.
With this batch I started loosing a few babies. I did some reading and got some advice from a friend, added some meds and it appears that the issue is over, I only lost 8 babies and hopefully that will be it.

Re: Frustration with discus:
Fry update. Most of the fry are quarter size and seem to be doing well. I tried to do a close look at them and culled about 10 that just did not look right. Daily water change and tank wipe down has been a chore.

Re: Frustration with discus:
It looks like I will have around 30 fry from a pair. The eggs hatched, they have attached to the parents.

Re: Frustration with discus:
Well my first pair of fry are about dime size now. The second pair has laid again, I plan on pulling the eggs and after they hatched putting them back with the parents. The parents must of knew what I was going to do. They laid on the glass. This batched hatched and they are attached. I can not tell how many there are because they are always in the back end of the tank but it is looking good. They have been attached for two days now.
