Can anyone give me a few pointers on breeding tetras?

10 gallon tank, two layers of marbles on the bottom. Spawning group of 6 fish. Fatten them up and wait for chasing. Remove the group after spawning, if you see eggs. Most of the time I don't see the eggs. We spawned a group of blind cave tetras this way, problem was that they were eating the eggs before they could reach the bottom. Guess they were not that blind!
