Visit to The Shrimp Farm
Probably one of the coolest aquatic places anywhere close to us has to be The Shrimp Farm. Ryan was nice enough to let me come visit this morning and it was pretty neat, and also the last thing you would expect on the top floor of a bank.
Ryan has quite a few different shrimp, live plants and a few crawdads. Everything looked really healthy.
They do most of their business through their website (http://www.theshrimpfarm.com/) but will let us buy stuff by appointment. I got a few things this morning, and I am going to rearrange some things in the fish room to make room for some others. Neat little creatures that don't take a lot of space.
Going to try and talk Ryan into coming to our December meeting to talk about them. (i'm going to be out of town for the November meeting)
You can contact Ryan through the website.

I think I used to work in that space. Was it a white back building by Jimmy Johns?

I'm going to try to make it to December's meeting (finally!). David, did you talk to Ryan or know if he's considering coming to the meeting?

Re: Visit to The Shrimp Farm
Decembers Meeting has been cancelled I believe. I need to update the website tonight.
We can still get together and go visit him I'm sure. I'd like to go get some more shrimp.
Anyone else interested?

Re: Visit to The Shrimp Farm
I'm interested in going to the Shrimp Farm sometime and getting some more shrimp. I *should* get my 5 gallon back up and running and ready before I do, as I want to make that a shrimp tank; but haven't gotten that far yet. Last weekend I finally cleaned and did water changes on my 55 and 75. They were bad. The filter in my 20 gal. gave out a while back and I don't have plans to resurrect that tank right now. But I would like to visit Ryan's and maybe get some more Amano shrimp in the meantime for my 75 to join the 3 I've had in there for over a year now. I really do like those little boogers.

I probably have a HOB filter for your 20 if you want it. I have a crapton of the red cherry shrimp too. Let me know if you want any - they are both freebies.

I don't want to mess with the 20 gal. right now; I figure I'm ahead just keeping up with the 55 and 75, and maybe getting the 5 gallon going again. I might be interested in some cherry shrimp. Will get with you on it when we talk.
