Re: Free: Apple/Mystery Snails
I don't. I started culling the clutches, and then a majority of any snails with shell deformations or damage, a while back; and after doing that, the remaining snails seemed to stop laying. I don't know if I inadvertently culled all the females, or what. But I now only have about 4 between both of my tanks.

That's a shame , but you had way way better luck than I. Never had a baby grow at all.

Awww... that's a shame too. They really are neat to raise, watching them grow, from egg to adult. I'm sad you didn't get to experience it.
I think I culled too fiercely because I was so confident in them breeding, and the success I had when they did. It worked, too well. And now I'm debating buying some! I miss them.

I bought some on Aquabid. I'll share them if I have any luck getting them to breed .

give back
I have some albino snails from you and some darker ones. You're welcome to have them back if you thought that would get things going for you. I don't have hard enough water with all the good stuff in it that you describe so I doubt they will breed for me. (Just so you know, if they do lay eggs, I'd like some of the young when you get to giving them away again.)

Re: Free: Apple/Mystery Snails
Thank you, Pops, for the offer. I love the snails, but I've put off getting any more right now as I haven't had (or made) the time to properly invest in keeping my aquariums in the best shape as it is, let alone add more stuff to them (and especially with the intent of breeding). So I think it probably best to decline your kind offer for now. You never know, they might breed for you yet!
