Feb/ March topics
Any suggestions for topics for the next two meetings?
I would like to start another contest soon if anyone has any suggestions.

IUCN list of endangered species
I'd like to see everybody keep at least one species of critically endangered fish, be it cichlids, killifish, egglayers or livebearers. I think devoting a tank to that and breeding them would be a good contest.

Sounds interesting!
But... where do we get information on which species are critically endangered? And then, will we be able to find/get at least a male/female pair (or more)? Where should we look? Will they be expensive?
Oh, and the only negative I see is... depending on some of us (namely me) to keep a critically endangered species alive. [The history books: "Criticalus endangerdous" went extinct in 2015 after Katnapper unsuccessfully attempted to breed and keep the species alive. Conservationists and the FBI are still looking for her."]

A since of humor, I like that.
I would be interested in this contest but we would have to figure out how to measure things in order to have a winner.
There are a lot of goodeids and Xiphophorus that would fit this category. I have a source in Glenn Carbon that seems to sell things at a nice price. I would expect (think) to get a start of 5 or 6 fry or juveniles for $20 or less.
Select Aquatics of Erie CO. also has a nice web site for these.
This could be a club trip, if there is interest.

As I mentioned before, there will be a PC and a projector available for us if anyone wants to bring a flash drive with pictures on it.
What kind of pictures?
Hmmm... I don't recall hearing you mention it before. Maybe I wasn't listening?
What kind/s of pictures do you mean... endangered species pics or general personal aquarium/fish pics?

Next month...
So should we plan on using the library again for Marchs' meeting? Sorry I had to leave so soon and thanks Mark and Becky for the fish and snails. What should the topic be? What about upcoming events? I haven't been on the ball this year with dates for swaps, auctions, and shows.

Re: Feb/ March topics
I'll reserve the library as soon as I get the chance. Hopefully this will get some people to come.

Re: Feb/ March topics
The library sounds good.
I am open for topics but I was thinking about talking about Wild Livebearers.

Naturally the Library is booked for the next 2 months. Mark you have a contact at Culvers?
I'm going to try and get a hold of Maddie and see if she can put in the story to check the website for meeting location.
