Tips for buying something on Aqua bid

The bettas I used for our competition came from aquabid; no problems. Got one from a USA vendor when its sale ran out with no bids using the personal message app toward the top of the bettas page. He took a price lower than "buy now". He said it would be going back in to aquabid in a few days otherwise. I haven't gotten anything from out of country. I'd be interested to hear how that has gone for others.

From what I understand about buying things internationaly, you have to pay them to ship to a trans-shipper here in the states, then pay the trans-shipper to recieve it then ship to you .
Runs the cost up a little I would believe.

No different than buying fish through the mail from anyone i'd guess.
