FS: used tanks

A member of the Gateway Guppy Club of St. Louis who lived north of Springfield, IL, passed away unexpectedly leaving about 200 tanks and misc. equipment to the Club. About 20 of the tanks are in the 4 foot size. The Club had hoped to get 50 cents per gallon but since they are dirty will take any reasonable amount less than that. I'll be helping them pack up the tanks this Saturday, Jan 4, and would be happy to get any tanks CITAC members might want and bring them to Bloomington. This is a great way to expand your fish keeping and help the Guppy Club as well. Just let me know if you want something by Friday night here or a pm or by phone: 217-935-8135.

Are they dirty, but cleanable (is that a word?), or is the glass etched like the 10's I have?

A 4ft tank can be anything from a 40 long to a 120. Any other dimensions?

I would be interested in a large tank (>75) as long as it could be cleaned.

Dave I sent a PM yesterday, the largest tamks that they still had left were 75, I asked for two but I am not sure of the condition.

Tony - I talked to Cathy and she sent me the pictures she sent you. From the looks of them, those tanks are toast. It would surprise me if they can be cleaned. She gave me the address and I'll meet you there Saturday morning, but I'm not hopeful that they will be worth bringing home.

I'll bring cleaning supplies and I guess we can see.

The Gateway tank pick up for tomorrow has been postponed so tank availability is going to be a bit longer. Will advise about new date.

What size tanks are left and can they be cleaned up?

The Gateway Guppy Club is scheduled to pick up the aquariums in Williamsville (north of Springfield on Rte 55) this Saturday morning, January 25. There are some 75 gallon tanks, used, for $50. and smaller tanks for $.50 per gallon. I can pick up tanks for anyone interested or see about you picking them up there Saturday. I'll drop them off in Bloomington if you want them. Let me know by Friday night. After Saturday they'll be in St. Louis. Stay warm.

Got a thirty and stand. Need some cleaning. $30.00. What's the best way to get them to you? I live near Clinton but could bring them to the Bloomington area. Also, when is good?

The 75 gallon tanks looked like a lot of cleaning at the least. All of them had been left to evaporate empty. The Gateway Club is going to have a clean-up day and if I go and there's a good one I'll grab it for you.

There really was a couple hundred tanks, many still with gravel. The 200 gallon tank was almost more than the hefty young guys could get out.
