California Blackworms
Might be ordering some more California Blackworms next week if anyone is interested.
The last batch did pretty well, and I think my fish have enjoyed them.
I thought they were a little muddy tasting...... :-P
Depending on how much gets ordered, they are like $25-$30 a pound. I ordered a pound and it filled (6) 6X6 plastic containers. They keep pretty well as long as you rinse them twice a day, and keep them in the fridge.
Tetras and Corries loved them.
Let me know.

I need a new start of microworms, mine crashed. Can you freeze the blackworms? I think that is what I bought to try out from a GCCA swap meet. I had so so results with the fish liking them. And they were gross, especially if you forget to refrigerate them overnight...barf! Great for big tetras but the goldfish turned their noses up at them.

Definitely need to keep them rinsed and refrigerated, not a pleasant smell otherwise. Mine lasted for weeks until they were all eaten.
Not sure I had any of my fish not devour them. Even the neons would pick them apart and chow.
I can bring Microworm starts to the next meeting if I can find some little containers.

You should be able to get black worms on fairly short notice from John Antolak in Chicago. He uses them to supplement his income and pay for his fish hobby. His e-mail is johnantolak@yahoo.com.
His blackworm location information is "http://organicblackworms.com/ is the site, organicblackworms@yahoo.com is the e-mail address".

I'll check with him, but I had pretty good luck last time getting them directly from the source.
Thanks.
