Ideal about a guppy exchange program
I have a Ideal about a guppy exchange program
Buy a pair of fancy guppies, breed them and in the month of April everyone who is in can trade trios of guppies. If there is any interest in this lets talk at the Dec meeting.
We could also do other types of fish.
Any thoughts?

Sounds like a fun idea. Too bad you didnt think of this before the Chicago trip, they had some pretty cool ones.
Other than basic/boring ones are hard to find in town, and they never have matching females.
I can check Charlies on Monday.
I'm in.
guppy sources
Do you want a list of web sources? One list I have has a supplier in St. Charles, MO, near St. Louis. That's probably where I'd get mine. I'd be happy to share a ride there. They may also know some other local suppliers. I have a couple of strains that are fair and a new color that's grey from black russian-whatever cross. They'd be fun to breed into a true breeding color.

guppy web sites
I've enjoyed viewing: www.guppyusa.com/guppy-breeders . That's where I got Richard Edmond's information. He lives in St. Charles by St. Louis. While he has only two lines of guppies he also has a link to the gatewayguppyassociates.com in St. Louis where many varieties could be acquired. The Chicago guppy club has been gone for some years now so there isn't an organized group to contact there. If enough people are interested, I'd try to get more information. Might even be a good field trip???

I would definitely be in on this as i already have a plethora of guppies. But i really need to work on diversification for breeding purposes and this would help.

Since there are least 5 of us so far, should be make it a show?
Entry fee like $5, winner takes all in a Marine Aquatics gift certificate?
That would add a little fun to it. :-)
Just a thought.
