angel baby updates

im curious to hear how you all who have my fish, how they are all doing. several of you have some of my fish now, its always nice to hear an update.

My angels are doing well, I still have them in a 10 gal and will need to think about where to put them. Any more baby with the albino gene for sale?

My breedin g pair of 1/2 blacks laid for the first time a few days ago.

Just moved all mine to a 30 gal and the original set are 3 inches top to bottom!!! Setting up a 55 this week for a lot of my big boys then the smaller ones can go in the community tank!!

Do you have something in your tank for them to lay eggs on?

Well there all in a 55 Gal just Angels and they are still pretty small. I will add some slate soon!!! How are your half blacks doing?

sorry I've been MIA lately. All of mine are doing great. They are growing like little weeds with the exception of one Paraiba. Its pretty little compared to the rest. I don't know how I will decide what to keep once they get bigger... I love them all... I'm hoping I can sneak in a couple more 55's and keep them all hehe.

When they get 1/2 dollar size they will be breeding size. You may want to start looking for some 10 gal tanks to hold some of those babies.

oh I've got plenty of 10 gallon tanks.... None of them appear to be pairing up yet.... Even those Koi I got at the auction in peoria are not pairing up yet, which kind of surprises me because they are getting pretty big.

Do you have anything in the tank for them to lay on?

about half of them are growing rather rapidly, the other half not quite as fast, but definately growing. I'm actually surprised at how fast they are growing. I'm going to have to get my 38 back up and running soon if they keep growing like this. What do you have brewing now Adam? I'm so gonna get in trouble lol

well ill just say you need to plan a trip up lol. ive got some new stuff that nobody has made available as of yet. some pinoy marble pariabas for example.

Yeah, I'm seriously debating getting it back up and running. I can get a sunsun cansiter filter for around $50 off of ebay. I love those filters.

unfortunately i will be in missouri floating my fat but down the merrimac river soakin up the sun lol. the pinoy clowns are an amazing looking angel. in fact they are my favorite variety of all. i currently have several coming up. i will in the next couple of months have enough for everybody in the club tho. the problem i have, if you want to call it that, is the pair im using to produce these fish has a pretty complex genetic makeup. therefor i get a huge variety in the spawns. so when somebody likes the pinoy clowns for example i would only have a few at a time. the big upside to this particular male pinoy clown father is he comes from an amazingly well marked pinoy clown from mike gibbs line. and wow does this pairing allow for all those awesome markings to carry on. sometimes it will go the other way, and the expression of the markings would be much suppressed. if any of you are into angel genetics at all the parent pair is a smokie marble pariaba female (from oyama in hawaii) x pinoy clown male (damonc in stl) when you have zebra, smokie, marble, 1 parent with 2 doses of stripeless, 1 parent with 1 stripeless gene, and then you add the fact that 1 parent has the dark gene also you get a huge variety. some of the varietys have not ever been made available for sale anywhere so thats kinda neat. get some types that havent been made yet. i will take some more recent pics of the older of the 2 spawns im currently growing out and post them here so everybody can see all this neatness im working with

a little funny tidbit, the fish in my avatar pic was actually a cull. i loved his markings, but he was missing the bigger part of the gill plate on the opposite side. i used that pic in the june photo contest for www.angelfish.net 5 mins after i took the pics he was thrown to mary ellen our flowerhorn lol
