Membership Drive

Alright folks, everyone agrees that we want to see the club survive and thrive. But, no offense to anyone, it's going to get mighty boring if it's the same 6-7 of us everytime.

So, I'm proposing that we set up some tables at the LFS's this weekend and see if we can stir up some interest. I'm going to talk to Sam at Marine and Petco, Jousha is going to talk to Premium.

Assuming they all agree, can I get some volunteers to man some tables? I'll print up some informative flyers and such and see if we can get our name out there.

Let me know when you are available Saturday and/or Sunday and I'll see which LFS's will let us do it.

another idea is for all of us who are members of different aquarium related websites to get the word out that way. anybody close might be interested. thats actually how mark and i met was thru angelfish.net

I will see what needs to be done in order to try to get something set up at the farmers market.

Sam says weekend business is kind of slow, but he is all for us being there.

Petco will allow us to put up flyers, but we have to be an 'official' 501(c) non-profit to set up anything. Premium is on the fence, so we'll just ignore them for now.

Sam is open 10-5 Saturday and 12-4 Sunday, so anyone interested in helping out please pick a few hours and let me know.

I'll put flyers up at petco tonight on the way home. I'll also have some available for anyone else to put up if they know of a good place (grocery stores etc).

OK not a hugely successful 1st day of the membership drive, but we've only just begun. If anyone knows of places that have Community Information type bulletin boards where we could put up flyers, let me know. I've done Petco and Cub Foods.

Mark has suggested getting a booth at the 3rd Sunday Market. People with fish and stuff to sell could do so and we could try and get the word out. Anyone interested?

Not sure when or where we are going to do this next. Have to get with Sam and when when he thinks he'll be a little more busy.

Selling at the 3rd Sunday market does not require any sort of livestock permit does it?
