care
They are easy to care for. I feed mine a variety of flake food, brine shrimp, blood worms. They do not appear to like fast flowing water but they are very tolerant of poor water conditions, They are easy to breed however it is difficult to fine female dwarfs. If you know of where you can buy some females let me know.
The next time we do a group buy for fish I am planning on getting about three of every type of dwarfs that they have. I am currently looking for females, which you do not see too much because they do not have much color. I have some juvenile blue ( non Dwarf) that you can have if you want some.
I purchased some juvnile pearls that I hope will be big enough to breed in several months. When they breed you get a ton of babies.

PM me a address and I will send you some stuff in the mail or you can pick some stuff up at the meeting. In the mean time take a pinch of flake food and grind it up very small between your fingers.

Re: breeding Gouramis

I have to admit, I wanted to breed them eventually, but I really didnt think it would be within 4 days of me getting them. Heck, I didnt really expect them to live longer than a week with them coming from WalMart.

Re: breeding Gouramis
Congratulations!!! You should have several hundred by tonight. I have a sponge filter in my Gourami fry tank. They really do not like getting knocked around by fast flowing water. I have had my fry for around 3 weeks now. Some have grown to about double their original size whereas others are still very tiny. I am by no means an expert at this, but I have somehow been able to keep several hundred of my fry from kicking the bucket. Keep us posted.

Re: breeding Gouramis
yeah, I just completely unplugged my filter all together. I'll move the parents over tonight I guess. Put the main filter on the new tank. I'll get a sponge filter on Friday to get them going

Re: breeding Gouramis
My Pearl gourami pair finally spawn. I was planning on taking a picture of the bubble nest to show Gina what a nest looked like but I see Laura already has a good picture of a bubble nest.
Gina this is a good picture of a bubble nest.
